The Singing Bowl Preschool name is inspired from the Tibetan Buddhism which reflects the perfect state of harmony created by the tones of singing bowl. Our preschool spells its aura through its education which brings in harmony in the child and so it is ‘The Singing Bowl Preschool’. It is a space that offers a play-based atmosphere of wonder, beauty, respect and security for children to begin their life-long process of engagement with the world and themselves. The Singing Bowl preschool aims to re-discover childhood in the modern world and promote practices that support children’s healthy development, love and joy of learning and living. What children need in this fast paced world is an environment that respects and meets their needs and gives them time to explore and experience the world at their own pace. Our educational program is derived from a range of internationally, renowned child development theories, latest neuroscience research. The Singing Bowl Preschool is a progressive school inspired by the Waldorf Philosophy of Rudolf Steiner and Multiple Intelligences theory of Howard Gardner, professor of Harvard University USA. We believe that education must address the whole human being – head, heart and hands – in a balanced way. Sustaining the inherent powers of imagination, creativity, flexible thinking which the young child carries at this stage along with nurturing a strong, healthy and well-coordinated body (TM through a unique movement programme) is the main focus of our early childhood experience. At this crucial developmental stage, our program gently supports the children’s intellectual abilities to unfold naturally, by engaging the WILL through meaningful life activities; cultivating the FEELINGS through the arts; developing language through story, song, and verse; and by stimulating creativity and fantasy through imaginative play.
