Maheshwari Girls' School started on 26th January, 1986 and is under The Maheshwari Sabha Trust, Kolkata. The school aims to impart multidimensional education catering to the intellectual, social as well as moral development of the students. It endeavours to expand the students' growth horizon by facilitating and encouraging extra curricular abilities. On the occasion of the opening day of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Maheshwari Sabha on 12th April,1974, Shri Ghanshyamdasji Birla exhorted the Maheshwari Community to take in hand a project to expand educational facilities. The move was strongly supported by Shri Rangnathji Bangur, Shri Pannalalji Daga and others present on the occasion. In pursuance of this call, "THE MAHESHWARI SABHA TRUST" was formed on 21st Day of June 1974 with an object to provide educational and other social services to the society. The settlers were Shri Ghanshyamdasji Birla and Shri Rangnathji Bangur and the first Trustees of the Trust were: Shri Lakshmi Niwas Birla Shri Rang Nath Bangur Shri Girdhar Das Kothari Shri Basant Kumar Birla Shri Madho Das Mundhra Shri Ghanshyam Das Binani Shri Panna Lal Daga Maheshwari Girls School was established in the year 1986 in Kolkata, India by the Maheshwari Sabha Trust under the inspiration of Late Ghanshyam Dasji Birla, Late Rang Nathji Bangur and Shri Pannalalji Daga The School started on 26th January 1986 with Primary Section having classes from I to IV. The journey started in 1986 has reached to a stage where the School has classes from Nursery to Class XII acquiring ICSE affiliation in 1992 followed by upgradation to Class XII, presently we are having Commerce Stream and Science Stream. The School is a Maheshwari Institution but admits and houses students from all religious denominations, caste and creed. In fact non- Maheshwari students make up a large segment of the school making it a cosmopolitan. Maheshwari Girls School as it stands today is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations that conducts ICSE and ISC examinations for class 10 and 12 respectively. The academic session of the school is from April to March. Saturday and Sunday are normal weekly holidays.
