Narmada memorial school was established on the 30th of January 1965 as Kennedy Memorial School in Wilson garden. The founders of the institution, Sri Dr.B.Sridhar and Smt. Narmada Sridhar were educationists, who were deeply committed in providing quality education to all the children. Armed with the necessary permissions and recognitions from the Karnataka education department, it was established as one of the best English medium schools in Wilson garden area from the year 1965 itself. Qualified, trained, disciplined and dedicated staff are one of the biggest assets of the school. The founders’ regularly conducted training sessions to all the staff members to encourage them to build a healthy school atmosphere. Smt. Sowmya Sunil ,who is their daughter and the present principal of the school, continues to follow in their footsteps. She holds B.sc and M.Ed degrees. She is hard working, enthusiastic and is completely committed towards the progress of the school. She renamed the school from Kennedy memorial to Narmada memorial after her mother’s demise in the year 1998. The school follows the Karnataka State board syllabus. It conducts regular student assessments. Parents’ meetings are held frequently. All the national festivals are celebrated. Children take part in various competitions. Sports, cultural functions, field trips are held every academic year. All round development of the child is given importance .The school gets excellent results in the SSLC board examination every year. Each child is given individual care and attention. The school has a distinguished alumnus. The school’s mission statement is “Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya” – which means lead me from ignorance (darkness) to light. ‘Education begins at home’, hence parents are encouraged to cooperate with the school authorities in matters concerning their children.
