The Gazelle was established by the dynamic Mrs. Arnavaz Damania in 1982. It began as a boutique, health spa, and a beauty parlour at Dhole Patil Road, Pune. It was the first health spa in the city and quickly gained popularity.The health spa saw great demand and so a second branch was created on Bhandarkar road in 1984. It was very successful with the beauty parlour supporting it.The academy started in 1987 as the standard of trained hairdressers and beauticians in Pune left much to be desired. People from all walks of life completed courses here and went on to start some of the other well known salons in the city. The third salon was opened in the then well known Hotel Blue Diamond, and was The Gazelle’s first unisex salon. It ran successfully till the Blue Diamond was sold to the Taj.
