To the great Guru Nanak who was an apostle of peace, truth and universal brotherhood, there could not be a better tribute on his 500th birth-day than the decision to build a "State of the Art" Hospital & Research Centre in the Metropolis of Mumbai. The ailing society and suffering mankind, which Guru Nanak loved the most, sorely need such facilities. The driving force behind this noble venture are the disciples of the great Guru spearheaded by the Sri Guru Singh Sabha, in a Mumbai city, where the rapidly expanding population has reached the 10 million mark. Medical facilities are woefully inadequate both in terms of quantity and quality. The immediate need of the hour is the setting-up of Medical centers that combines excellence in treatment with a philanthropic and humanitarian approach so that they are accessible to people from all walks of life.
