He completed his MBBS from JLN Medical College, Ajmer before undergoing Masters in surgery from Rabindra Nath Tagore Medical College at Udaipur, Rajasthan. He later underwent Advanced Laparoscopic training from the prestigious Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He did his Bariatric surgery training from Mayo Clinic, at Rochester in Minnesota, USA, under Dr Jeff Thompson (Chairman, Surgery ) in 2005. He was the Consultant and Head of the General and Minimal Access surgery Department at Apollo Hospitals, Goa and was the first surgeon to perform Obesity and other advanced laparoscopic surgeries in the state. He also served as Assistant Professor in Mahatma Gandhi National Institute of Medical Sciences at Jaipur and established the Minimal Access Department before joining the Global hospital and research centre (an institution run by the “Brahmakumaries”) at Mount Abu as consultant and head, for a brief period.
