'Lonica', named after Sunil Colaco's maternal grandparents Lawrence & Monica, was launched 38 years back in the year 1985. There was no undertaker from Bandra to Borivali at that time. Sunil Colaco's father, Damaso Colaco's diploma in refrigeration & carpentry skills was a catalyst in taking off the business. In 2003, Sunil Colaco took over the business at the age of 18, accompanying his mother to receive bodies and handle emergency orders. The young and talented entrepreneur learned a lot from his folks and provided a boost to the business that was close to its sunset during a point of time. His brilliant ideas and skills to venture into businesses that would compliment the root business of undertaking ensured that the sun would never go down for the young dynamic funeral service provider. Lonica services include organizing floral tributes & ritual requirements for all communities. They hold the record of being the 1st to provide 'Pall Bearer Service' in Mumbai.
